6 animation Demo Reel Dos and Don'ts

• This article is about Don Kim teaching the dos and don'ts about demo reels and how it can help you get your first job. One thing you can do is only include your best work in your demo reels. Don't put anything in it that you think might not be your best even if you have a sentimental attachment to a particular shot. One thing you shouldn't do is make your reel 5 to 10 minutes long because the people reviewing your work doesn't have time and might get bored. You can begin your reel with your best shot and end with one of your best shots too, to keep them interested. Don't put to many top titles, transitions and underscores. Pay attention to the shots you edit together and how the shots relate in your demo reel. Also do many other things than just a demo reel like a portfolio, life drawings, color studies, short films, story boards and many other things
• I think this article is helpful for people who want to get a job for animation and need help setting up their demo reels. I learned that you need to put in a lot of thought into your demo reel so you will get the viewers attention. Yes, I agree with what was said. This is relevant to the field of digital media because it helps people get a job in animation and help them stand out.

Watch: From Tarantino to Cronenberg

• This video is about many great directors and what they think about filmmaking. They talk about fears, what makes a great movie and many more things. Some directors talk about how they got into filming and how they have been doing it for most of their lives. They also talk about what you think people will like in a movie to draw more of and audience. Even though you make a movie just how you pictured it or how you wanted it, it could still fail because of some fundamental disconnect between you and the audience. This is one fear that most filmmakers have. Many different emotions in films can help you get more of and audience. You also have to have enough going on so your movie doesn't seem boring to other people. The tricky part of filmmaking is to keep it new, interesting and fresh.
• I think this video is helpful for people who want to know more about filmmaking. I learned that it takes more than just a good idea to make a good film. Yes, I agree with what was said in this video. This is relevant to the field of digital media because it's a bunch of good directors taking about their fears and what makes a great film.

The Science of the Avengers

• This video is talking about all the science that went into making the Avengers. Like talking about what Iron man's suit was made out of and how heavy it would be when made out of those items. It also talks about Captain America and Black Widow and their super human abilities like being super strong, quick reflexes, aging slowly and to heal quickly. It talks about how this might happen with a white blood cell called macrophage. It also talks about Captain America's shield which is made out of steel which is strong and ridged. It also says that it contains something called vibranium which converts vibrational energy into light energy.
• I think this video is helpful for people who want to know more about the science that goes into the Avengers. I learned that the things behind these characters are actually very thought out. This is relevant to the field of digital media because you want to think something out before you do it so it seems more realistic.

Game of Thrones: Raising a Dragon with Pixomondo

• This article was about Florian Friedmann and how he rigged the dragons and made them more realistic. He talked about as the dragons got older int the show they had to add more things to the rig like details to keep it looking realistic and the more detail you have the more animation control you will have. He also talks about using the same rig for all the dragons, he just changes the color of things to make the look different. He also talks about hiding things like making the dragons look like they're walking when they're not. The last thing he talks about is what they will make the dragons do next and how you do get attached to the things you make.
• I think this article is very helpful for people who want to know how people make things look realistic or if they want to know somethings about rigging. I learned that the more detail you put into what you made the easier it is to animate it. This is important to the field of digital media because to become a good animator you're going to have to know how to rigg things and make them look realistic.
